In English Yesterday I did a Figurative language packet with classmates.On one of the stations we did a Alliteration poem challenge where we wrote poems and had our partners try to read them.One of the poems I wrote was this. Today i just finished reading chapter five in my book the Son of Neptune.
It was about A girl named Hazel (one of the main characters) had a flashback of her life.She remembered when she was heading back home to her mother after saying goodbye to her friend.She came home and heard her mother talking about her to a voice inside her head.She heard her mother saying she was a “poisoned child” and that it was her fathers fault that she had a cursed daughter.Hazel got scared and ran down the stairs into Her father who she hadn’t seen almost her whole life.Her mother is angry at her father because she left them there whole lives and made her daughter cursed.Her curse is making all gems and other valuble stones apear radomly.I think based off of the stories clues that if anybody touches the gems they might die or be cursed in some horrible way.Hazels mother decides to move to Alaska and away from were they where because a voice inside her head is controling her and making her decide to go there.Hazel is certain that were she and her mother are going will be dangerous and probably not be safe for them.She has to go anyways because her mother tells her to.I can predict that they will definitly encounter something dangerous there.
1.What did you think of the writing? Are there any standout sentences?
I liked the way the author made certain chapters based off of the different characters personalities or secrets.There are standout sentences or parts of them at the beginning of all the chapters.Even in other series.I think this is unique and an interesting and kind of weird way to start a chapter.
2. Would you want to read another book by this author?
Yes.I would love to read more books by the author because one of the series i read was interesting to me and I really like this series and would love to see how everything turns out with the good guys and bad guys.
Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan
For book club I am in the category of fictional books.The book I am planning on reading is the Son of Neptune witch is the second book of the hero’s of olympus series.I am almost done with the first book and loved it.So that is why I have decided to read the second book and the rest of the series.
I read Percy Jackson the lightning thief and loved it! My grandparents got it for me because they thought I would enjoy it.At first I never touched it and it stayed in my bookshelf but one day i pulled it out of the bookshelf and decided to read it.Its about a boy named Percy that learns that he is a half blood half human half demigod.In the book he goes on a quest with to best friends to get Zeus lightning bolt back and save the world.I rate this book five star because it is interesting, funny, and a great adventure!There is a whole series though so i am reading the other books and i love them!
spiritual emphasis day spiritual emphasis day was super fun! First everyone went to their advisory and we stayed there and chilled and then we had doughnuts! After that we made a super cool chant for are advisory to show the whole middle school.
